At Te Mapua we care, love, nurture, guide, teach, mentor, encourage, clothe, feed, comfort, and pray for each child we are fortunate to share life with, through a range of community, School and Residential based support programmes. Agencies and organisations working with children in need can refer children to our programmes.

Residential Care

Teddy Bear: Children's camps are run in most school holiday periods. X-plosion: Kid's camps are held during Christmas, Easter and October school holidays. Summer Slam: A week long residential camp for 11-13yr old boys. Alabaster: A week of pampering and creativity for 11-13yr old girls.


Community Care

Whanau day: Children are invited into churches to share breakfast, and to join in fun activities. Picnic in the park: A time to enjoy eachothers company. Warriors: The programme operates in 'iwi groups and includes activities to encourage strength in all areas; physical, spiritual, emotional, educational, and community health. Inspire: Supporting and journey with parents throughout the parenting process.


School Support

Transport: Te Mapua vans pick up children from the
eastern Christchurch suburbs, and ensure safe arrival and attendance at local primary schools. Behaviour Intervention: providing specialised behavioural support within the school. Ignite: Is a programme available to any primary school, or agency involved in referring children to a Te Mapua Children's Camp. Breakfast: Te Mapua has launched breakfast clubs for children to attend before 9am in school halls.
